Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of EasyBorder (“the Service”), operated from India. By using the Service you agree to them.
1. What EasyBorder is
The Service takes a product description you provide and returns a suggested HS (Harmonized System) tariff code, GRI-based reasoning, and a confidence score. It is a decision-support tool for exporters, not a substitute for licensed customs advice.
2. No customs or legal advice
Classification suggestions from EasyBorder are provided “as is,” without any warranty of correctness. HS classification depends on facts we cannot verify from a product description alone (composition, end-use, method of manufacture, applicable rulings). You are responsible for verifying every code with a licensed customs broker (CHA) before filing shipping documents or customs declarations. We are not a CHA and do not file on your behalf.
3. Free tier and rate limits
The Service is currently offered free of charge with the following limits:
- Anonymous users: 1 classification per IP per day.
- Signed-up users: 4 additional classifications per day.
We may change these limits at any time and reserve the right to throttle or block traffic that appears abusive (scraping, credential stuffing, denial of service).
4. Your account
You must provide accurate information when you sign up. You are responsible for activity from your account. Do not share your session cookie or account with third parties.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit descriptions of prohibited or restricted goods (weapons, controlled drugs, wildlife products, etc.) with intent to evade customs.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or replicate the Service.
- Interfere with the Service's operation (excessive requests, exploiting bugs).
- Impersonate another person or provide false account information.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, UI, and prompt templates, is owned by us. You keep full ownership of the product descriptions you submit. The classifications we return are suggestions you may use freely for your own customs filings.
7. Shopify app terms
If you install our Shopify app, the additional terms of Shopify's Partner Program apply. Uninstalling the app immediately revokes our access to your store data; existing classification records tied to your store remain until you exercise your right to erasure.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EasyBorder is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service — including but not limited to held shipments, customs penalties, overpaid duties, or business losses that result from relying on a classification without independent CHA verification. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (currently ₹0 while the Service is free).
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and exercise your right to erasure (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
11. Changes
If we materially change these Terms, we'll update the “Last updated” date and, for signed-up users, notify by email before the change takes effect.
